Discover Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. Australia's favourite theme park. An abundance of rides, wildlife and attractions create the ultimate family fun day.

Situated at Coomera, a northern suburb of Queensland's Gold Coast, is Dreamworld, Australia's largest theme park. Opened in December 1981, Dreamworld has long been known as the ultimate 'one day holiday' and hosts thousands of local and international tourists annually.

Once the location for the hit reality television series Big Brother, Dreamworld has a total of 27 rides, including 4 roller coasters, 2 water rides and plenty of rides for young children. Dreamworld is located right next door to Whitewater World.

Dreamworld's Exciting Attractions

Upon entry to Dreamworld, beautiful and well maintained buildings line Main Street, including the IMAX theatre and a number of souvenir and specialty stores. One of the original Dreamworld attractions, Rocky Hollow, is home to the Rocky Hollow Log Ride, a popular family ride for all ages. But beware, riders will get wet with a thrilling plunge into the water end the ride.

A number of themes create the Dreamworld backdrop. Nickelodeon Central and Wiggles World are ideal for young children, with a number of rides, characters and activities to keep them entertained all day long. In Wiggles World, your child can have their photograph taken with their favourite Wiggles character or why not include the whole family, with a photo opportunity in the Big Red Car. Children can also explore Captain Feathersword's Ship or ride Dorothy's Rosy Tea Cup Ride.

Another water ride at Dreamworld is the Thunder River Rapid Ride in Gold Rush Country. Riders board a circular raft and ride the rapids down Thunder River through the dark caves. While in Gold Rush Country, visitors can try their luck at the shooting gallery or take advantage of the themed photo opportunities.

The Australian Wildlife Experience is home to Australia's native wildlife and a variety of barnyard animals. Visitors can view the animals in their natural habitats and have the opportunity to get up close to the wildlife. Also located at Dreamworld is Tiger Island, one of only two Tiger exhibits in the world, housing six Bengal tigers, six Samatran tigers and two cougars.

Dreamworld's Thrilling Rides

At Rocky Hollow, thrill seekers will find the Giant Drop, the world's tallest free fall ride. Standing 188 metres high, with speed of up to 135 kilometres per hour, riders will take in a breath-taking view of the Gold Coast before plummeting to the ground.

The Tower of Terror II is also a highly popular ride among dare devils and at it's time of opening in 1997, was the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. Riders travel in an 'escape pod' 115 metres up the tower at 160.9 kilometres an hour, lasting just seven seconds.

Along Ocean Parade, visitors can jump on board a number of electrifying rides with the Wipeout, the Claw and Dreamworld's main roller coaster, the Cyclone all close by.

Other rides to experience at Dreamworld include:

  • Mick Doohan's Motocoaster
  • Flowrider
  • Avis Vintage Cars
  • Runaway Reptar Rollercoaster
